Established in 2009, South City International School has always aimed to create a harmonious and stimulating environment in which each pupil is encouraged to develop maximally his or her intellectual ability and academic performance potential; creative energy; enterprising spirits; physical skills; notions of justice, equity and public morality; affiliation to his or her cultural roots and heritage; open-mindedness, international and multi-cultural perspective, and a spirit of empathy for the less fortunate, with readiness to work constructively for social good.
The educational institution hosted an event – Fun Fiesta Carnival 2022 on November 15th (Tuesday), 2022 for children from multiple schools across the city along with their own. Several prestigious schools across the co- participated with full fervour. The purpose of this carnival was to improve critical growth in an overall development by instilling self-esteem, social integration, creative and problem solving abilities, leadership qualities, cognitive and language skills, and so on for pre-schoolers. The event included some fun activities with the children while engaging in exciting activities (Toy Rides, Craft Workshop for the children to display their creative talents, Non Flame Cooking, Tattoo Making, Whishing Tree, Candy Floss, Story Telling, Photo Booth, Disney Characters to interact with and so much more). The event was graced by renowned actress Koneenica Banerjee as the Chief Guest.14 principals from different schools were invited at the event. Mr. Ravi Todi, one of the directors at South City International School, was also present to encourage all children and lend his support. Mr. Todi commented at the event, “Walt Disney had once said, – Every child is born blessed with an imagination. But, like a muscle grows flabby with disuse, the imagination of a child pales in later years if he ceases to exercise it.”
Last two years of Pandemic had turned the entire world of these children topsy turvy and living within the four walls, they had completely forgotten how to enjoy themselves. Now, they are gradually bouncing back to normalcy and relearning how to make merry.
Our Fun Fiesta Carnival is an annual programme designed for the pre-primary students. It is a day dedicated to them. This year organizing this fun-filled carnival was a humble attempt on our part to bring back the lost joy in the lives of these little ones.
This year too we had lot of fun activities like toy rides, craft workshop, story- telling sessions and many more, for the children and I am glad they enjoyed to the fullest and returned home with happy faces.
