Look at the Paradox, “Act of God” vs “Guest is God” & “Atithi Devo Bhava”, 1st one hits the 2nd & 3rd… with GOD being Common.

We can be forced to relent due to Act of God, Political unrest, Economic crisis, Pandemic but we haven’t give up. This is clearly proved by the fact that, pent up travel & dining spree is resulting in the continuously rising voracious revenge travel & dining.

The most important aspects those needs to get priority in these scenarios are Cleanliness, Sanitization & Safety norms which are going to be the deciding factors in choosing a hotel or resort. 

FIT is one of the major target in the Sales Segment besides MICE & Weddings. RevPar is going to be the deciding factor for a healthy business scenario with optimum focus to maximize the ARR. The present trend show Resorts pegging a healthy Occupancy & ARR over their City counterparts as people are preferring expansive hospitality destinations so that necessary social distancing can be maintained. Urge for being amidst Nature in Eco Resorts providing Holistic & Physical Healing is on the rise, as is evident at the Vedic Village Spa Resort (VVSR) Kolkata. 

Automation & automated service philosophy & practice is another parameter which has abundantly proved to be the need of the hour. Pre arrival check in protocols, Remote payments, Remote keys for entry to the room, etc are being adopted & adapted in general. At Vedic Village, we started these practices as a part of the Eco system up gradation well ahead of the pandemic, thus it has only acted as an enabler & strength during crisis. Stay cations, Day cations, Co working spaces, Day outs, Picnics were always a part of the service offerings & it has gained gigantic momentum during these unprecedented times which ideally has gone a long way in keeping the resort afloat. 

Cloud kitchens, Morning Bakery supplies to various estates, concepts like Vedic Kitchen at Home has also seen an upward graph as most people these days want parties and gatherings upto a permissible extent & limit to happen in the comfort & safe environs of their homes. We have also launched a Dining Card Program during these difficult times with Benefits Galore which has become extremely popular with the local populace. Our 3 years Wellness Program “Vedic Sanjeevani – Heal amidst Nature” at the Resort’s Ayurvedic Treatment Center “Sanjeeva Spa” is one of the most sought after in the region.

 

One of the major factor discouraging a traveler has been the uncertainty which loomed large during these times,  Skepticism is still there in the air. However the ray of hope are concepts like Dekho Apna Desh, Vocal for Local, etc which proactively promotes Tourism, Culture & Cuisine within the country. Also with the international borders opening up, flight operations re starting and e-visas being made easy, international travel in also seeing a upward momentum. Measures taken by FHRAI, TAAI & other trade bodies is resulting in an upward graph in the tourism movement across sectors as we are witnessing. The Central Budget has been a mixed bag of deliverable as to the expectations from the industry insiders and experts… however time shall only tell how potent the measures have been as apt mobilizers.

All said & done, the writing on the wall is very clear… Together we shall Overcome.
