News Mania Desk / Agnibeena Ghosh/ 27th April 2024

Amidst the unfolding investigation into the firing incident outside Bollywood actor Salman Khan’s residence, Mumbai Police’s Crime Branch took a significant step on Thursday by petitioning the Home Ministry to issue a look-out circular (LOC) against Anmol Bishnoi, the brother of notorious gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. Anmol Bishnoi drew police attention after he made a public declaration on Facebook, claiming responsibility for the shooting incident at Salman Khan’s house in Mumbai.

Earlier reports from Tuesday revealed that Mumbai Police’s crime branch, as part of its ongoing probe, unearthed two pistols, three magazines, and 13 bullets from Gujarat’s Tapi River. This discovery marked a crucial development in the investigation, shedding light on the weaponry used in the attack.

The prime suspects in connection with the firing incident, Vicky Gupta and Sagar Pal, were apprehended on April 16 near Bhuj town, Gujarat, in a joint operation by Mumbai and Kutch police teams. Their arrest in Mata No Madh underscored the collaborative efforts between law enforcement agencies in pursuing leads and apprehending individuals linked to the crime.

During interrogation, Gupta and Pal revealed crucial information, disclosing that they disposed of the firearms into the Tapi River from a railway bridge while en route to Bhuj after fleeing Mumbai. Their confession provided vital clues regarding the disposal of evidence and the methodical execution of their escape plan.

Furthermore, investigators uncovered the alleged motive behind the shooting, indicating a deliberate attempt to instill fear and panic. Gupta and Pal reportedly acted on the instructions of the Bishnoi brothers, Lawrence and Anmol Bishnoi. Anmol Bishnoi’s direct involvement in orchestrating the attack came to light, with evidence suggesting that he maintained communication with the suspects via internet calling.

According to insider sources, Anmol Bishnoi facilitated the arrangement, promising monetary compensation to Gupta and Pal for their role in the shooting. The suspects were reportedly paid Rs 1 lakh upfront, with the promise of an additional Rs 3 lakh upon completion of the task. This revelation underscores the calculated planning and financial incentives involved in the execution of the crime.

The Mumbai Police’s move to request a look-out circular against Anmol Bishnoi signifies a proactive measure aimed at preventing his potential escape or evasion. By issuing the LOC, authorities aim to monitor and restrict his movements, thereby facilitating his apprehension for interrogation and further investigation into his role in the criminal conspiracy.

As the investigation progresses, law enforcement agencies remain vigilant in their pursuit of justice, determined to unravel the complexities of the case and hold all perpetrators accountable for their actions. The collaborative efforts between Mumbai Police and other agencies reflect a concerted commitment to upholding the rule of law and ensuring the safety and security of citizens.

In the face of mounting evidence and revelations, the case continues to unravel, shedding light on the intricate web of criminal activity and highlighting the imperative need for stringent measures to combat organized crime and uphold justice in society.
