In the realm of South Korean television dramas, tvN’s Queen of Tears and Lovely Runner have established themselves as frontrunners, consistently topping the charts as the most buzz-worthy shows of the week. With their leading cast members also maintaining their positions as the most-talked-about actors, these dramas have captivated audiences both locally and internationally, earning widespread acclaim and recognition.

The Good Data Corporation’s weekly ranking system gauges the popularity of each show and its cast members based on the amount of buzz generated across various platforms, including news articles and social media. Queen of Tears has demonstrated remarkable staying power, maintaining its stronghold at the top of the chart for six consecutive weeks, while its cast continues to dominate the actor rankings.

Queen of Tears’ Continued Reign:

According to the Good Data Corporation’s TV Index, Queen of Tears has consistently secured the coveted #1 rank, reaffirming its status as the most buzz-worthy drama of the week. Simultaneously, it has maintained its position at the summit of the TV-OTT index, reflecting its popularity across online streaming platforms. Leading the pack in the actors’ list is Kim Soo Hyun, followed closely by Kim Ji Won at #2. Additionally, supporting cast members Park Sung Hoon, Kwak Dong Yeon, and Kim Kap Soo secured positions at #5, #8, and #9, respectively. The drama reached a milestone on April 21, achieving its highest viewership ratings to date, with an average nationwide rating of 21.625%.

Lovely Runner’s Ascension:

In its second week on air, Lovely Runner quickly climbed the ranks, securing the second spot on both the TV and TV-OTT indexes. Byeon Woo Seok and Kim Hye Yoon, the drama’s lead actors, followed suit, claiming the #3 and #4 spots in the actor rankings, respectively. This swift ascent highlights the drama’s growing popularity and its ability to captivate audiences with its compelling storyline and talented cast.

Other Notable Entries:

Wonderful World, starring Cha Eun Woo and Kim Nam Joo, maintained a strong presence in the rankings, securing the sixth and seventh spots on the actors’ chart. New entries in the weekly rankings include MBC TV’s Chief Detective 1958, debuting at the ninth spot on the TV-OTT list and seventh on the pure TV chart. The series, led by Lee Je Hoon, premiered on April 19, offering viewers a fresh and intriguing storyline. Similarly, MBN’s Missing Crown Prince, starring EXO’s Suho, made its mark on the TV list, securing the eighth spot. This historical drama, airing on weekends, has garnered attention for its captivating narrative and stellar performances.

Finally, Disney+ original series Blood Free’s Han Hyo Joo secured the tenth spot in the actor rankings, marking her debut entry in the weekly chart.
