Suicide agreement? Six family members discovered deceased in vehicle, while the seventh claims ‘will expire in 5 minutes’

In Haryana’s Panchkula, seven family members from Dehradun ingested poison and took their own lives. The bodies were discovered trapped inside a vehicle parked near a residence in Sector 27. A family member from the seven who ended their life in a vehicle informed nearby residents that they chose this extreme measure because they were “suffocating under debt,” prior to committing suicide.

“I will die in five minutes as I have also consumed poison,” he told Puneet Rana, a local resident who had helped him out of the car. In a video that has surfaced showing the man’s final moments, locals can be heard saying, “Give him some water,” while others are heard calling local authorities to come to the spot immediately.

As per reports, the family made this drastic decision due to being in significant debt and financial hardship. According to sources, Praveen Mittal, who lives in Dehradun, had arrived with his family to participate in a spiritual gathering at Bageshwar Dham in Panchkula.

The event occurred on Sunday as the family was heading back to Dehradun once the gathering concluded. The locals were the first to notice the family. Witnessing their difficulties in the car, the nearby residents notified the police following their attempts to rescue them. Describing the event, Puneet, a bystander, mentioned that he and other locals managed to pull one family member out after realizing they had been vomiting on one another.

“The incident happened near our house. Someone told us that a car was parked outside with a towel on it. When we asked, they told us they had come for Baba’s program and couldn’t find a hotel. So they were sleeping in the car. We told them to move the car and park it elsewhere. After that, we noticed that they had vomited on each other. We pulled him out of the car,” Puneet told reporters.

He said that only one person was breathing at the time, while the others appeared to be unconscious.

As they pulled the man out, Puneet, recounting his last words, told reporters, “He said that he would also die in five minutes as he had consumed poison. We are drowning in debt.”

Puneet additionally stated that although the police reached promptly, the ambulance was 45 minutes delayed. The family members were pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital. The individuals who lost their lives include Praveen Mittal, 42, along with his parents, wife, and three kids — two daughters and a son. Police confirmed that a suicide note was found at the location. The bodies have been moved to a private hospital in Panchkula for autopsy.
