On World Environment Day, the Prime Minister will spearhead a unique tree planting campaign as part of the Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam initiative.

To commemorate World Environment Day, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will spearhead a unique tree planting campaign at Bhagwan Mahavir Vanasthali Park, New Delhi, on June 5, 2025, at 10:15 AM, reinforcing India’s dedication to environmental care and sustainable transportation.
The Prime Minister will plant a Banyan tree seedling as part of the Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam initiative. This initiative is a segment of the ‘Aravalli Green Wall project’ focused on reforesting the 700-km Aravalli range.
The initiative aims to expand green cover in the 5 km buffer zone surrounding the Aravalli Hill Range across 29 districts in four states, namely Delhi, Rajasthan, Haryana, and Gujarat. Its goal is to enhance the biodiversity of the Aravallis by means of afforestation, reforestation, and restoring water bodies. Its goal is to enhance soil fertility, water accessibility, and climate adaptability in the area. The initiative will also benefit local communities by offering them job and income-generating opportunities.
The Prime Minister will launch 200 Electric Buses as part of the Delhi Government’s sustainable transport program, encouraging clean urban mobility and representing the nation’s shared duty towards environmental balance.
