Nirmal Surinder Kapoor Dies At 90: Anil Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor, Rani Mukerji Pay Final Respects

Anil Kapoor and Boney Kapoor’s mother, Nirmal Surinder Kapoor, passed away on Friday (May 2). She was ninety. She took her final breath at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai.

On Saturday, the Kapoor family, along with their colleagues from the industry, assembled at Anil Kapoor’s Juhu home to perform their final tributes.

Sonam Kapoor and her relative, actor Arjun Kapoor, showed up together at the location. In a video shared on Instagram, Sonam is shown leaving the location in her vehicle. Rani Mukerji was present as well.

Rani, having a close relationship with the Kapoors, supported them during challenging moments. Janhvi Kapoor also grieved the passing of her grandmother. Her sister, actress Khushi Kapoor, was with her. Janhvi’s speculated partner, Shikhar Pahariya, was with her.

Anupam Kher, Ananya Panday, Javed Akhtar, Jackie Shroff, and Veer Pahariya, the brother of Shikhar Pahariya, also honored their final tributes. On Friday evening, Anil Kapoor and Sanjay Kapoor came to Nirmal Surinder Kapoor’s home in an ambulance transporting her body. Reena Kapoor and Arjun Kapoor were with them.

Following the death of Nirmal Surinder Kapoor, Boney Kapoor released a statement on Instagram.

The film veteran wrote, “Passed away peacefully on the 2nd of May, 2025, surrounded by her beloved family. She lived a full and joyful life, leaving behind four devoted children, loving daughters-in-law, a caring son-in-law, eleven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and a lifetime of treasured memories.”
