Mrs. Kavita Ghosh, wife of Executive-Editor, Northern India Patrika and Editor, Amrit Prabhat Mr. Tamal Kanti Ghosh, grand-daughter-in-law of the illustrious Editor, Amrit Bazar Patrika and Jugantar, Late Shri Tushar Kanti Ghosh, and daughter in law of former West Bengal Minister and Member of Parliament Late Shri Tarun Kanti Ghosh left for heavenly abode on May 16 at her residence in Kolkata in the presence of her family members. She was 67.
Known for her love, compassion and kindness that spread beyond her family and household, Mrs. Kavita Ghosh was well known in her friends and social circle. She reached out to one and all without distinction. Born in Haridwar in Uttarakhand (then Uttar Pradesh), she did her schooling from St Mary’s Convent, Prayagraj and was alumnus of the University of Allahabad. She got married to Mr. Tamal Kanti Ghosh on April 27, 1980 in Prayagraj and the couple is blessed with two children – Tanay and Tania Ghosh.
Mrs. Kavita Ghosh was the central figure in her family and held each one of them with a flair of bond and affection distinct to her. Not only her immediate family, she was fondly loved and respected by her extended family members, friends and house help. Her absence is deeply felt by her household help and staff to who she was like a mother figure. Mrs. Kavita Ghosh spent her time in fulfilling her duties as a wife, mother, mother in law and a respected citizen of India.
She was deeply compassionate about animals and birds and her environment and used to raise her voice and lend a helping hand to the voiceless. A very strong willed lady, she was deeply rooted in the universal values of truth and justice. She beautifully blended the rich traditions of her Matru Bhoomi Uttar Pradesh and her Karma Bhoomi West Bengal.
In her departure to the heavenly abode, her absence is deeply felt not only by her family, but everyone else, whose lives she had gently touched and enriched.
