Janhvi Kapoor pays tribute to mom Sridevi with her outfit for Cannes red carpet debut. 

Actress Janhvi Kapoor made an impressive entrance at the current Cannes Film Festival, honoring her late mother and actress Sridevi with an elegant and sophisticated outfit as she graced the red carpet.

On May 20, Janhvi stepped onto the Cannes Film Festival red carpet before the premiere of her movie, Homebound. For the event, she chose a stylish, pink ensemble crafted by Tarun Tahiliani, featuring a metallic finish. The outfit included a veil that concealed her low bun.

According to Diet Sabya, Janhvi honoured her mother Sridevi through her attire which came with Indian touch. The post on their handle read “Janhvi channeling mother Sri for first Cannes red carpet Lewk”.

The followers also agreed with it, commenting, “It’s giving Sridevi” and “reminded me of Sridevi.”

Sridevi was recognized for her grace and composure, often attending events in traditional Indian clothing that highlighted her affection for her cultural background. She was also recognized for putting her unique twist on classic outfits, giving them a modern touch.

Janhvi’s bespoke corset and skirt were made from authentic fabric, intricately woven in Benaras. The texture was created using a hand-crushing method. She complemented the outfit with pearl accessories. The actor was accompanied on the red carpet by Homebound co-stars Ishaan Khatter and Vishal Jethwa, along with director Neeraj Ghaywan and producer Karan Johar. Homebound narrates the tale of two friends from a village in North India whose bond is affected as they seek careers as police officers.

Neeraj’s Homebound was showcased in the Un Certain Regard category at the Cannes Film Festival. Martin Scorsese has joined the project as the film’s executive producer. The movie is created by Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, and Somen Mishra. The co-producers are Marijke de Souza and Melita Toscan Du Plantier.
