Influencer and fashion icon Uorfi Javed has publicly addressed the controversy surrounding her portrayal in the Prime Video reality show The Traitors, accusing co-contestant Apoorva Mukhija of manipulating the narrative to paint her as the villain. Taking to Instagram, Uorfi shared a video with screenshots of her private chat with Apoorva and clarified her side of the fallout that has stirred up buzz online.
Apoorva had recently posted a “storytime” video offering her perspective on the incident that took place during the filming of The Traitors, which suggested that Uorfi acted harshly toward her. In response, Uorfi revealed that she was deeply hurt by the way she was depicted and insisted the conflict was exaggerated for effect. She said the portrayal of her as a dramatic antagonist was part of a “planned” move to create sensationalism around the show.
In the screenshots she posted, Uorfi appeared visibly upset, saying, “I’m literally shivering right now,” in response to Apoorva’s public account. She also recalled a moment on set when she tried to comfort Apoorva but was rudely dismissed with the words, “Beh***d jaa na yaha se” (“Bitch, get out of here”) in front of the crew and other contestants. Uorfi admitted that the insult triggered her emotionally and she may have responded out of ego, but emphasized that disrespect is a serious issue for her—especially after years of being mocked and trolled online.
“I’ve been disrespected so many times on the internet,” she said in the video, explaining that being dismissed so bluntly during filming was a painful experience that she couldn’t ignore.
Adding to the drama, screenshots from the conversation between the two sparked speculation that Uorfi may have actually won The Traitors. One message from Apoorva said, “Since you won, you can come on my podcast and talk through it,” which many fans interpreted as an accidental spoiler. Some social media users, however, questioned whether this was genuinely unintentional or another publicity strategy tied to the show’s promotion.
In her closing remarks, Uorfi clarified that she has no intention of continuing the feud but wanted to clear her name and ensure that viewers know the full story. She emphasized that she never wanted to be part of a drama narrative and was only standing up for her dignity.
The controversy has reignited debate about how reality shows construct narratives and characters through editing and publicity, often blurring the line between truth and performance. For Uorfi, the message is simple: she’s not the villain, and she won’t let someone else write her story.
