The Royal Monogram Of King Charles Has Been Made Public By Buckingham Palace

King Charles III’s new monogram has been made public by Buckingham Palace as the official time of mourning draws to a close.

The monogram features a crown, Charles’ first initial, and the first letter of his Latin title, Rex.

Omid Scobie, an expert on royal biographies, posted the new design on Twitter.

According to the press release, the king personally chose the design from a collection of designs created by The College of Arms. According to the news announcement, Lord Lyon King of Arms gave his approval for the Scottish crown to be included in the monogram’s Scottish variation.

The new monogram will take the place of Queen Elizabeth’s previous one, which included the letters “ER” next to a crown. On government structures, official papers, royal household correspondence, and some mailboxes, the Queen’s monogram was used.

The Royal Family Channel shared images on Twitter that highlight the variations between the two monograms.

The palace indicated in the news release that the process of changing the Queen’s monogram to the future monarch’s will be gradual and at the discretion of individual organizations.

The release of the monogram occurs as the Queen’s official period of mourning comes to an end.

On September 27, the royal family tweeted the conclusion of the time of royal mourning, and shortly after, it changed its profile picture to a picture of Charles and Camilla, the Queen Consort.

A representative for the royal family posted on Twitter, “The period of Royal Mourning following the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth has finally ended.”

They continued, “This account will continue to reflect The King’s, The Queen Consort’s, and other Royal Family members’ contributions while honoring Queen Elizabeth’s life and legacy.”
