On November 5, four people—including a woman—were detained for robbing a Delhi under-21 cricketer in Baguiati. The event happened when the victim went to meet the woman on a date at a Baguiati flat after being seduced by the cricketer through a dating app. Police are investigating whether the group had previously been involved in events that were similar to this one.
The occurrence happened on November 2. The player, who was residing in Salt Lake while traveling to Kolkata to play matches with his colleagues, went to the Baguiati police station to report being mugged while crossing the street. He said that a gold chain and his cell phone were stolen. A Paytm account had to receive Rs 60,000 from him as well. While speaking with him, the officers noticed that the boy wasn’t recounting the entire incident. After speaking with him, they discovered that he had met a Baguiati girl through a dating app. Since he was in Kolkata, the girl had requested to meet him, and he had consented.
On November 2, the victim arrived at the Baguiati flat for the date, according to the police. The girl and three of her companions led him inside, closed the door, and took all of his belongings. That was not the end of the trauma. According to reports, they threatened to release the photos unless he paid more and forced him to strip off while they took nude pictures. The victim then transferred the funds to the Paytm account in an effort to flee the clutches of his captors. He also unintentionally provided a lead for the police to find the accused quartet doing so.
