Bollywood star Ajay Devgn and his son Yug Devgn are joining forces for the first time, lending their voices to the Hindi dubbed version of the upcoming international film Karate Kid: Legends. Ajay will provide the voice for Mr. Han, originally played by Jackie Chan, while Yug will voice the young lead character, Li Fong, portrayed by Ben Wang in the English version. This project marks Ajay Devgn’s debut in international voiceover work and Yug’s first official entry into the world of cinema.
Directed by Jonathan Entwistle and written by Rob Lieber, Karate Kid: Legends is the sixth installment in the globally popular Karate Kid franchise. The story follows Li Fong, a talented martial artist who relocates to New York City and faces challenges in a new school environment. Along the way, he builds friendships and prepares to face a tough local karate champion. Guided by two iconic mentors—Mr. Han and Daniel LaRusso (played by Ralph Macchio)—Li embarks on a journey of self-discovery and personal growth through martial arts.
Sony Pictures India made the announcement on social media, unveiling a poster featuring Ajay and Yug. The caption read: “The master has a new voice. So does the student! Ajay Devgn and Yug Devgan are all set to bring Jackie Chan and Ben Wang’s epic journey to life in Karate Kid: Legends (Hindi). Kick into action with the Hindi trailer dropping soon.”
The film is scheduled to release in Indian theaters on May 30, 2025, and will be available in multiple languages including Hindi, English, Tamil, and Telugu. This father-son collaboration adds a personal touch to a globally beloved series, and fans are eager to see (and hear) their dynamic performance in this action-packed reboot.
