
On May 7, 2025, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, Wing Commander Vyomika Singh, and Colonel Sofiya Qureshi addressed the media in New Delhi regarding Operation Sindoor. The operation was a targeted military response by India to the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22, which resulted in the deaths of 26 Indian nationals.
Wing Commander Vyomika Singh, an experienced helicopter pilot with over 2,500 flying hours, co-led the briefing. She emphasized that the operation utilized advanced technology to minimize civilian casualties, confirming the destruction of nine terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. Singh clarified that no Pakistani military installations were targeted during the strikes.
Colonel Sofiya Qureshi, a senior officer in the Indian Army and a pioneer in cyber defense, highlighted her unit’s role in securing military communications and repelling cyber-attacks during the operation. Her leadership in integrating cyber capabilities into military strategy has been instrumental in modernizing India’s defense infrastructure.

The coordinated briefing by these distinguished officers showcased India’s strategic military capabilities and reinforced its stance on combating terrorism.
