The 127th Induction Training Programme at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA), Mussoorie, concluded with a valedictory ceremony attended by Lok Sabha Speaker Shri Om Birla as the Chief Guest.

The programme marked the successful completion of training for 97 officers promoted from various State Civil Services to the Indian Administrative Service (IAS). These officers represented 19 states across the country.

In his address, Shri Birla emphasized the crucial role that civil servants play in strengthening governance and contributing to national development. He urged the newly inducted IAS officers to serve as the final and most dependable point of resolution for public grievances. “Administrative officers should be the last stop for people’s problems,” he stated.

He also pointed out that when citizens approach political leaders instead of administrators, it signals a deficiency in the administrative system. Stressing the need for proactive governance, he encouraged officers to adopt a people-centric approach in public service.

Highlighting the power of administrative leadership in bringing about socio-economic transformation, Shri Birla urged the officers to leave behind a legacy of excellence. “One should always set a benchmark in their work so that the next officer can follow it,” he said, calling for high standards of accountability and integrity.

The Speaker further underscored the importance of lifelong learning in civil services. “Study, teaching, and training should be pursued throughout life,” he remarked, reinforcing the idea that knowledge, adaptability, and empathy are essential traits for effective public administration.

The ceremony marked a significant milestone in the careers of these officers as they transition into key roles in governance. The comprehensive training at LBSNAA is designed to prepare them for the challenges of modern administration, fostering a spirit of service, leadership, and commitment to the Constitution.

The 127th batch’s conclusion not only celebrates the culmination of intensive learning and preparation but also reaffirms the enduring relevance of ethical and capable civil services in driving India’s development agenda.
